Author of Frommer's Day by Day Vancouver & Whistler, he also writes the daily Cruise Blog and biweekly travel features for and freelances for various newspapers, magazines, and websites. He's written on topics ranging from speed traps and genealogical travel to minimalist art and the 2008–09 world financial crisis; provided writing and editing services for congressional candidates, global consulting firms, and UN agencies; and performed concerts of Persian classical music, Ukrainian and Sephardic folk music, and contemporary improvisation for audiences of 2 to 2,000. Heidi Sarna is not a cat person, but loves dogs and people, especially her adorable twin sons and cute husband. She's a freelance writer who has sailed the oceans blue for more than a decade in ships of all sizes all over the world. Author of Frommer's Day by Day Singapore, and a contributor to several other guidebooks, she also writes regular travel columns for and Porthole magazine. She's written for countless magazines, newspapers, and websites on travel and cruising, but also covers diverse topics from relationships to charities, furniture, nutrition, and interesting people. Go figure.
