Anastasia: The Tapestry of the Silver Unicorns
S.L. Neugard, Jul 1, 2007 - 388 pages
Fifteen-year-old aspiring ballerina, Emily Sinclaire, must rediscover herself and find her inner strength after a tragic accident has left her orphaned and paralyzed, unable to dance again. She travels to an ancient castle in the Scottish Highlands to live with a stern aunt whom she has never met and adapt to her new life in a wheelchair and in a foreign country. While at the castle, she discovers an ancient mystery involving a young girl, Caitriona, who had vanished from her third floor bedroom in the sixteenth century. When a mysterious white kitten appears to her one night and shows her the secret way into the girl's locked bedroom, Emily painstakingly crawls up the stairs and discovers an enchanted tapestry of silver unicorns hanging in the lost girl's ancient room. As Emily stares hypnotically into the beautiful woven fibers, the tapestry suddenly comes to life and Emily is transported into a magical realm filled with enchanted creatures and floating cities.
