This is a book I wrote for Sigma Publishing in 1993 after Amstrad released an interesting Notepad computer. By coincidence my ex-colleagues at Arnor (with whom I had been a programmer) were commissioned to write the operating system. In conjunction with Amstrad they supplied me with all the inner workings of the machine you could ever want, which I then ploughed through in order to create as comprehensive a guide as possible. I also called on the assistance of my brother to help write several example programs for the book to illustrate just what you could do with all the information gathered into it. I'm proud of this book because it really did help Notepad owners get far more out of their machine than they ever thought possible.
