Full of misinformation & bound to get you in trouble
if you venture away from the 3 or 4 well-traveled trails.
Ditto for the Wilderness Press map designed to accompany this "guide."
The section on where to go to the beach is a complete non-sequitar & belongs in a different book.
Schaffer's "Hiking the Big Sur Country" & the Sierra Club's "Los Padres North"
are the only backcountry guide books worth a damn in Big Sur
& even so, conditions have changed dramatically since the Kirk & Basin Complex wildfires.
Best bet- skip the books & Google Ventana Wilderness Alliance-
their website has interactive trail reports that definitely have the most up to date information.
