About the author (1999)

Timothy Paul Jones is a best-selling and award-winning author of many books, magazine articles, and reference materials. A noted theologian, he is also senior editor of The Journal of Family Ministry and professor of leadership and church ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition, he was named by Charles W. Colson as one of four "Names You Need to Know," has been a featured guest expert on national news programs, and recipient of prestigious theological and scholastic awards.

He has written books on preaching, prayer and the challenges of pastoral ministry, and is a contributing writer toThe Christian Millennial History Project. He is married with three children.
