An interesting linkage is that Piaget connects the discovery by Galois of the group concept, which revolutionized 19th century quantitative, symbol-driven analysis, with his Constructionist and Structuralist concepts. This linkage has been virtually ignored, probably, in part at least, due to the infamous analytical incompetence of many of the academic workers in related fields.
