"As you learn to practice PowerLiving, you will find your life suddenly flowing in a continuous upward spiral of achievement. You will also discover a new sense of self-confidence that comes from maintaining a balance between personal and professional happiness and success."
--Jake Steinfeld
Known worldwide as the muscular image behind Body by Jake, Jake Steinfeld is the founder and CEO of Body by Jake Enterprises, a multimillion-dollar business that includes a television network (FiT TV), a national magazine, and fitness products. But PowerLiving by Jake is not a book about physical fitness. It is an encouraging, informative, step-by-step guide to a happier and more successful life. If you've got your eye on the brass ring and a powerful, purposeful, and meaningful life is your goal, then PowerLiving by Jake is for you.
Jake Steinfeld knows how to turn obstacles into triumphs because he's been there. A one-time "fat kid with a stutter" from Long Island, he preferred his Twinkies to the weights his father bought him until, as a teen, he began working out and tapped into an area of his imagination that gave him a vision of what he could achieve. Jake's physical transformation provided him with the motivation to pursue a bodybuilding career and move to California, where he became a pioneer in the personal fitness training business and ultimately created a $250 million fitness empire.
As a "Trainer to the Stars," Jake counted in his roster of clients Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Priscilla Presley, and Bette Midler. Juggling his multiple roles as trainer, trusted confidant, and ever-observant student gave him a unique opportunity to see famous and successful peoplestripped of their public personas and celebrity trappings. He soon found that these "superstars" were extremely motivated, focused, but otherwise regular people who believed in themselves and their talents and were relentless in pursuing their dreams in spite of the fears, setbacks, and failures along the way.
Now, for the first time, Jake shares his life-changing lessons of success. Beginning with fostering self-confidence and the belief in one's ability to change, he shows the way to developing the traits, drive, and commitment essential to achievement. Jake's PowerLiving lessons include instruction on self-awareness, goal setting, banishing negative thought patterns and behavior, finding a mentor, making decisions and taking risks, and much more. Readers are given the responsibility of devising their own success story, based on their own dreams and goals. Moreover, Jake presents these concrete, real-life methods for personal growth and change in an inspiring, down-to-earth, and accessible style. Often humorous, always entertaining, Jake relates the remarkable stories of his own setbacks and achievements as well as the lessons to be learned from the mistakes and triumphs of his famous clients.
