Profiles, trend pieces, and slices of life from the boom years of the late 1990s. It was probably more interesting to read this book now than it would've been when it came out - it freezes in time the internet boom and the country's pre-September 11 giddiness. Read full review

About the author (2001)

DAVID REMNICK is the editor of The New Yorker. He is the author of several books, including King of the World and Lenin's Tomb, for which he won the Pulitzer Prize in 1994. He lives in New York City with his wife and three children.
