The investment guaranty program protects US lenders against loss from commercial and political risks by providing for repayment of principal and interest on loans made to eligible borrowers. The direct investment fund offers direct dollar lending with varying interest rates depending on OPIC's assessment of the risk and its opportunity to share in the profits of the project.
