An expansion of a single sermon. Comes with a few gems. As a for instance, points out that Jesus is the true elder brother. The Father is accepting back to the rebel son (through the ministry of Jesus). The true elder brother will rejoice with the Father in finding his lost son (Recall that the surrounding parables are about rejoicing over something lost and found). The false elder brother refuses to rejoice over the lost thing, and thereby becomes a lost thing himself. I find myself more and more drawn to these devotional books. We all need reminders of the simplicity of the gospel. Keller offers that.
