when a point is to be proven myriad theories can be put together. yes there are striking similarities between the jain & buddhist philosophy yet the theories developed to prove that one is a sect of the other or vice versa are naive & irrevelant. the truth as it is, is eternal & anything that tries to explain it is bound to be similar just as the similarities between jainism n buddhism. there ennumber of irregularities & faulty interpretations about jainism. the research is an incomplete one & the author seems to have had very poor guidance. to sum it up, its at best a misleading book.
