On July 21 2016 for the first time in my life i saw Steve Vai speaking about the story behind the birthing of the guitar instrumental For The Love of God taken from his seminal album Passion and Warfare...he speaks of fasting periods lasting ten days and the recording of the song during that time, and he speaks of frequenting the Bodhi Tree Bookstore in Hollywood where he copiously imbibed the spiritual legacies of "the subjective and the sacred" of our Earth's peoples which contributed significantly to the "blinding brilliance" and "raptures of the soul through virtuosity and sonic flights" contained within his guitar works.
What does this have to do with this book?
Here the contributors stress the dire need for the development of and rediscovery of the inner, lost through glorification of the outer only and its importance in contributing to a deeper understanding of the human condition, combining science and the world's mystical traditions to forge a new future.
the book has no index and i have to peruse further to see if references were made about Emerson.
A gift from my sister who lives in the state founded by Mr William Penn.
