Pp. 181-191, "L'antisémitisme en Algérie, 1890-1939", describe the evolution of antisemitism in this period based on testimonies of people who lived in Algeria then. At the end of the 19th century the radical anti-Jewish movement demanded abrogation of the Crémieux decree and the elimination of Jews from politics and economic and social life. Mentions anti-Jewish riots in Oran and Algiers. The anti-Jewish movements were defeated only in the elections of 1902. The period of World War I saw a decrease in antisemitism because of participation of Jews in military service. The 1930s saw an increase, influenced by European fascism and the French extreme-right. Mentions the pogrom in Constantine in 1934. Pp. 193-208, "La Deuxième Guerre mondiale, 1939-1945", describe the application of the Vichy Laws in Algeria.
