While this book may have been useful some years ago much of the information has been outdated by the FODMAP diet for managing functional bowel disorders like IBS. Doing a GOOGLE search for FODMAP diet will bring many resources that explain this clinically tested diet and how it can be use to manage IBS symptoms successfully.
