These transcripts present testimony concerning the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), which since 1965 has provided the bulk of federal aid to elementary and secondary schools and related programs. Much of the testimony was from Arizona education officials, school administrators, teachers, civic leaders, and business people who voiced opinions about the efficacy of specific programs and activities funded by the ESEA, particularly those items that they would like to see expanded or improved. Testimony was heard from: (1) United States Representatives from Arizona, Karan English and Jolene Unsoeld; (2) an elementary school principal; (3) a high school counselor; (4) the Arizona state administrator of vocational and technical education; (5) school district officials; (6) staff of the Scottsdale and Mesa chambers of commerce; (7) local education foundations; and (8) educators from the Dial and Motorola corporations. Correspondence and statistical materials from the Arizona Center for Vocational/Technological Education at Northern Arizona University are included. (MDM)
