About the author (1977)

Gornick holds a BA from the City College of New York and a MA from NYU. She is the author of eight books, one of which was nominated for a National Book Award and another was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award. She is currently working on a biographical essay on Emma Goldman while at the Radcliffe Institute.
