User Review - Flag as inappropriate Zeitlin dives thoroughly into the mind and world of the thirteen year-old Kelsey. She is hilariously self-centered (as any YA ought to be) and yet entirely lovable at the same time. I found myself thinking like a thirteen year old whenever I closed the book to leave the subway. One of the things I found enchanting about this book is what it must be like to grow up in Brooklyn. I know what it's like to live here as an adult, but what's that childhood like? I found myself enthralled with this little girl's obstacles, her ups and downs. If that's not enough, Zeitlin has a sharp edged humor that just kicks my ass. Two thumbs up and five stars. | User ratings
