Grover Smith is a professor of English, emeritus, at Duke University. Among his publications are T. S. Eliot and the Use of Memory (1996) and T. S. Eliot’s Poetry and Plays: A Study in Sources and Meaning (1956). He is also the editor of Josiah Royce’s Seminar, 1913-1914, as Recorded in the Notebooks of Harry T. Costello (1963) and of Letters of Aldous Huxley (1969).
