A wonderful first novel from a young author that I hope we hear from for years to come. Paolini has created a very detailed world with fantasy creatures that are reminiscent of J.R.R. Tolkiens middle ... Read full review

The author really is good. I really enjoyed the world he created. Though I have to admit that I got bored with it at about halfway through and struggled to keep my attention there at all times. Still, I look forward to reading the other installments someday. Read full review

I loved this book thought it was a harder read because of all of the characters to keep up with and the words that were different. Some I wrote down on a paper to look up. Read full review

A great book, perfect for those who are actively interested in fantasy literature, and perhaps an introductory novel to those readers just starting out in the genre. Read full review

I might be a bit biased here, but I loved this book. I'd actually rather review the series than just the one book. I give this book a 4/5 stars, but the series is a 5/5 easily! One gets to know the characters pretty well in these books, and you find yourself laughing at things that normally wouldn't be funny. In all this is the story about a young boy who finds a dragon, who then becomes what is known as a Dragon Rider. Anchient flying knights of old who protect, and mentor the peoples of Alagaesia. This first book is more about Eragon learning the tricks of the trade to being a Dragon Rider, and In book 2 Eldest he learns more advanced skills to help him conquer evil. I want to tell you everything, but I don't want to give anything away. Guess you'll just have to read it! Can't wait for book 4!
