"Judy was one of my idols growing up in golf--she was the leading player of her day on the tour. She's broken important ground for women with her TV work for ABC. And she does it again with "A Woman's Guide to Better Golf."" -- Nancy Lopez, 47-time winner on the LPGA Tour "Judy was the most consistent ball-striker of any pro player I've ever seen. She knows everything there is about this multifaceted game, and in this book she shares that wealth of knowledge with golfers of all abilities." -- JoAnne CarrIer, LPGA Tour Hall of Fame In "A Woman's Guide to Better Golf," Judy Rankin offers a combination of mechanical advice, gleaned from her many years of competitive golf, and practical suggestions specifically targeted to today's woman golfer. She covers the hard-core instruction basics on setup, full-swing mechanics, the short game, putting, sand play, strategy, and trouble shots in text and photographs. She also offers practical tips on taking lessons, buying equipment, and arranging games to keep matches interesting. And she shares her unique observations about the top players-both men and women-in the game today. In addition to offering no-nonsense, time-tested advice, Rankin has enlisted a little help from some of her friends: LPGA stars such as Beth Daniel, Nancy Lopez, Helen Alfredsson, and Dottie Pepper as well as players on the men's and senior tours have all provided valuable insights anq tips for woman golfers. Judy Rankin joined the LPGA Tour in 1962 at age 17 and went on to gamer 27victories during her playing career. She was named LPGA Player of the Year in 1976 and in 1977, and she was chosen captain of the 1996 LPGA Tour Solheim Cup. Rankin, who covers both men's and women's golf events for ABC Sports, lives in Midland, Texas.
