My best translation work becomes a classic in Indonesia. Can't help but feeling humbled and beamed at the same time.
I don't have the flowery speech nor the adequate expertise to describe the
technical beauties that deem the book as "meh", "good" or even "great". It was an experience when I was working on it--that much I can say. Almost to the point of it felt like I was writing the book myself. I'd suppose that's not too far off the mark, in translation point of view.
Good or bad, I believe it's more a matter of taste. Very subjective. Especially because I was the translator. But the fact that it has become a classic, even beyond its original country, should explains enough.
Miss more works like these.
