About the author (2008)

Ellen Kronowitz has been a professor at California State University since 1978 where she co-founded the university demonstration school and worked with student teachers and interns and taught courses in curriculum and social studies methods. She was granted Emeritus status in June 2004. Ellen has authored Your First Year of Teaching and Beyond, now in its 4th edition, poetry and social studies resource books for teachers, and early literacy book as part of a series. She also enjoys horseback riding and skiing.
