This is an indispensable teaching resource! I looked into this book after my second year of teaching. I almost quit teaching entirely after a terrible term teaching grade 7. I did not know about classroom management and how vital it was to creating a safe learning environment. I purchased this book and it quite literally changed my life! I became excited about teaching again and education in general. I started to renew my faith in my own abilities as a teacher and invested time in studying the theories and practice assembled in this book.
Overall, this is a very practical book but its based on solid theory. I implemented many techniques in my next home room class and was able to have a very successful and safe classroom environment. In sum, classroom management is a key component in modern teaching. Teachers are expected to be excellent managers of their classrooms. This book gives excellent ideas that will benefit your teaching experience. Of course the most important element is to not just read it but put it into work in your classroom. You will not be disappointed!! Good luck!
