I like this book for several reasons. First, the stories are accurate but condensed-short enough for a bedtime story and not compromise basic biblical teachings. Second, the moral of the story is at the end and optional-they can be skipped or read at the reader's discretion. Last, much of the old testament phases and wording is used. I can see me using this book for years to come (once I print it out) not just for the 1st grader but for middle and high schoolers needing a quick bible lesson and good sound moral reminding.

Page 116 - Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
Page 47 - I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
