About the author (1999)

\Cub Kahn is a professional nature photographer and writer who teaches environmental science at Marylhurst University. His nature photography has appeared in magazines such as Backpacker, Sierra, and Travel and Leisure. His work has also appeared in The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times. He lives in Forest Grove, Oregon.
