Hopkins's gift with free verse reaches new heights in this portrait of splintered identical twins. Sexual abuse, a fatal car accident and violent alcoholism have wrecked their family. This book was amazing I finished this book in 1 day because I couldn't put the book down. The only parts I didn't like were the part about the dad. He needed to get reported or something.

This is a book about a pair of twins that follows their lives as a disconnected and chaotic family and as young struggling individuals. The book switches between the point of view of one twin and the other, allowing you to fully see inside both sisters’ minds and relate. The events of the book grow more and more towards chaos until the twist-ending that I never saw coming.

Being a faithful reader of Ellen Hopkins, I must say that this is my absolute favorite. The mirror effect throughout the whole book in the free verse style of her poems really make the reader think about the way each of the girls feel at a certain point. The sex, drugs, and self-destruction may not be for everyone, but if you begin this book, you should definately stick it out to the end to encounter the amazing plot-twist. (Spoiler, sure, but it is a great twist!!!)

I was simple mesmorized and astonished at something that i had no idea could capture my heart so beautifully. I LOVED IT,EVER BIT. The ending just gives you that last bit that you need to go out and want to read more of Ellen Hopkins. BEAUTIFUL AND TRULY A CLASSIC.

The form and content were both very appealing. I enjoyed how key words were set off during the transitions between characters, giving a deeper meaning to both their passages. Shape poetry was well used. The twist was well-foreshadowed but still left me reeling. You feel like to need to reread to really understand the characters in greater depth.

This is my favorite book ever. Of all time. Everything is so wrong and sick and just when you're wondering why am I reading this, you get a glimpse of hope. The ending is simply marvelous- it is a total surprise ending. I definitely recommend this book but it is very mature.
