It's really common for genalogical books of this era to contain lots of errors and wild speculation presented as fact. Oftentimes the authors talked to a living descendant and the info for THAT person and their immediate families is first-hand and quite reliable, then it's just the ancestry that goes off the rails.
If you are a researcher of the family of Uriah Cross and Anna Payne/Paine, be aware that there were TWO Uriah Crosses with nearly the same birth and death dates. This author doesn't realize that, and does backflips to try to reconcile the data for both men into one person. Uriah the husband of Anna never lived in Lunenberg and probably wasn't the son of Daniel. Uriah's complete biography and a list of his residences can be found in his 1832 pension application. (We know this was the husband of Anna Payne because her brothers testified for him.)
