About the author (2012)

Jim Aylesworth is a former teacher as well as poet and author of more than thirty books for children. In 2009 he received Illinois's Prairie State Award for Excellence in Writing for Children. He lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Brad Sneed has illustrated more than twenty books for children. Born, raised, and residing in Kansas, he has long admired regionalist painter Thomas Hart Benton, whose influence can be seen in Mr. Sneed's work.
