About the author (2003)

Keir Starmer is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers and the author of European Human Rights Law. He has extensive experience of litigation before the European Commission and Court of Human Rights. He has advised and trained a wide range of individuals and bodies on the Human Rights Act 1998,
including the JSB, the LCD, ACPO and the CPS. Iain Byrne is Research Officer for the Human Rights Act Research Unit of King's College, London University. Francesca Klug is Director of the Human Rights Research Unit at King's College, London University and is a member of the Government's Human Rights
Task Force.
