The Paul Meier books were simply excellent. Action, descriptive, compelling, but most of all Truth. They are well written and imagniative without taking poetic license with Scripture which so many of this genre do. There are two books additional in this series and I highly recommend them all. About the author (1993)

Paul Meier, M.D. is a psychiatrist and founder of the national chain of Meier Clinics as well as best-selling author or co-author of more than eighty books. He holds five degrees in the fields of medicine, psychiatry, and theology. Happily married, he has six children and two grandchildren.
