Excerpt from Easy Greek Reader

The following passages have been selected for the use of those who are just beginning Greek, and require something more simple than Xenophon.

They are selected from post-classical authors. If in some instances a form or a grammatical usage is found which is unknown to the best age, this defect is perhaps compensated (for the learner) by the more modern cast of the thoughts.

In the fables two versions are often given of the same fable in order to make the difficulty of the vocabulary - which is one of the - greatest with which the beginner has to contendias light as possible.
