Great Book. Well written and very thorough. CBT is often criticized as being shallow and overly technical. Dr. Beck's book teaches that the use of focus, planning, and structure can lead to meaningful work on core issues. The book covers the technique of CBT in exhaustive detail and many professionals and laymen can benefit from it's content. At times it seems repetitive but it says what it needs to say. I look forward to learning more about this technique in the coming weeks.

What an excellent read, I can definitely see the advantages in trying to evaluate underlying thoughts or 'automatic thoughts' that trigger emotions. Trying to prevent conflict or even at least lessen it is an improvement. I find within myself it is habit rather than cognitive. But I have definitely taken those thoughts on board and will apply them to my thinking. Thankyou.
