Dr. Albert Hornblass was my Oculoplastic surgeon from 1975 until his passing. He operated on me more than 15 times (possibly 20). He pioneered surgeries on me, being the difficult patient that I was (am). He created a surgery for me after I had rejected many other ocular implants. The implant he created remained in place for 40 years. He was an incredibly creative and innovative man.
While my implant (silicone beads) have finally begun to sink to the orbital floor due to gravity, I am grateful that I had an implant that stayed put and was worry-free for 40 years. I wish that Dr. Hornblass were alive now, to once again pioneer another surgery for me, as I cannot find a qualified surgeon in the U.S. to be willing to handle this massive task.
Anyone who ever studied or worked with Dr. Hornblass, is blessed.
