Pulling the best poems from various points in his early and later life, this collection celebrates previously published poems and offers new autobiographical pieces that explore the complexities of being and nonbeing experienced during bouts with illness in advanced age. Light and exuberant pieces reflecting the passions of youth and more mature pieces weighing on mortality are sure to satisfy readers of fine poetry and English literature, as well as those who will enjoy the author's long-awaited return to verse.
