Long considered a classic, A History of Islamic Societies is now that much more useful a reference for general readers and scholars alike. Widely praised for its balanced and comprehensive account, Ira Lapidus' work has been fully revised in its coverage of each country and region of the Muslim world through 2001. It incorporates the origins and evolution of Islamic societies and brings into focus the historical processes that gave shape to the manifold varieties of contemporary Islam. The concluding chapters survey the growing influence of the Islamist movements within national states and in their transnational or global dimensions, including the Islamic revival, Islamist politics and terrorism. An updated discussion of the roles of women in Islamic societies is added, with new sections about Afghanistan and Muslims in Europe, America, and the Philippines. Ira M. Lapidus is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of California at Berkeley. His many books and articles include Islam, Politics and Social Movements (University of California Press, 1988) and Muslim Cities in the Later Middle Ages (Cambridge, 1984).

Now in all over the world, people are not living with peace and unity. In excrise of powers conferred under holy Quranic verses 17:16 and 28:59 we are sending the following message in the interest of public in the world to follow messages posted in our website http://www.goldenduas.com Besides we have posted a video in Youtube as public unity and peace in the world and the same may be upload by the public all over the world.
Greetings and Good Wishes to all People of the World,
Our website http://www.goldenduas.com is a social network site in accordance with the Declaration of Commonwealth Principles, 1971. It follows that our website ought to have been added in all the links of Government Websites, Commonwealth Countries in the interest of public peace, faith, security, health and wealth of mankind in the world. Besides the Commonwealth meetings like that held on 20th October 1991, other invitees like the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and other non-governmental Commonwealth Organization have to play their full part in these objectives, in a spirit of co-operation and mutual support.
In various parts of the Islamic countries, Christians are being killed and also Churches are burnt by the terrorists and this is against the Holy Quranic Verses 2:99, 5:82, 7:157 & 158 and also 22:40.(Quranic Verses in English are also available in www.quran.com).It is the bounden duty of the Commonwealth countries to take decisions in the interest of world peace and initiate co-operation with all other countries in the world.
According to the Declaration of Commonwealth Principles,1971 issued in Singapore, it is declared that Commonwealth of Nations is a voluntary Associations of Independent sovereign states, each responsible for its own policies, consulting and co-operating in the common interests of their peoples and in the promotion of international understanding and world peace. Besides it is also declared that international peace and order are essential to the security and prosperity of mankind and it is also supports the United Nations and seeks to strengthen the influence for peace in the world, and its efforts to remove the causes of tension between nations.
Globalization is not possible without society, political stability and peace.
Further the Commonwealth declaration made on 08-12-2003 states that active participations of civil society must include women and youth and also strongly reaffirms its commitment to multilaration, international co-operation, partnership and productive working relationship between government and civil society organizations and accordingly we have established a social network under the name and style of http://www.goldenduas.com for the following reasons.
The People of the World are very much grateful to the Commonwealth Organization for its excellent service to the World. It is your bounden duty to review and do the needful to add/uplink our website http://www.goldenduas.com in your websites and its sponsored websites also in the World in the interest of public unity and peace and to avoid famine, floods, earthquake, bomb blast, extremist activities, unemployment problem, global economic meltdown, Tsunami, Law & Order problems, climate changes and also various kinds of diseases for the following reasons
The Islamic Governments and all other Islamic organizations in the world failed to notice that Christians are not arrogant and amongst them are priest and monks according to the Quranic verse 5: 82 .In the absence of reorganization of the above, there can be no peace between the 2 largest populations of the world. Once the Holy Quran recognized Christianity, then no Christian can criticize that Islamic community is false or that it is a satanic community. All the Muslims in the world are the followers of Our Prophets Jesus, Moses and Muhammad (peace be upon them). We have no other intention except to spread the messages to all the communities in the world posted in our website www.goldenduas.com to promote harmony, peace and security of mankind in the
