About the author (2000)

Harvey Jay Cohen, M.D., is professor of medicine; director, Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development; and chief, Division of Geriatric Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Cohen is currently president of The Gerontological Society of America. He is an internationally known expert in geriatrics who has published more than two hundred articles, book chapters, and several books.
