I'm enjoying the 19th century travel and hunting narratives of Frederick Courteney Selous. He takes time to describe the area, people, animals, and landscape while telling about his experiences. It seems that many of the place names have changed and there is some vocabulary that is new to me, but overall I'm really enjoying this introduction to the world of big game hunting in Africa in the 1800's.
