Sophia Rosenberger (Nee Kaplun-Kogan) was born in Moscow 12.5.1879. Her family, parents Paul & Ljubow (Pechowitsch), and brother Wladimir (Wolf) moved to Jalta because of her mother's tubercolosis, which, of course was the topic of her thesis. After completing school in Jalta, Sophia, or Sonja, as she was known to her family, moved to Germany to study medicine, studying at the universities in Berlin & Freiburg. In Freiburg she met Felix Rosenberger of Koln. They married and lived in Mulheim an der Mosel. Felix was killed on the field of battle in Western France immediately following the outbreak of WW1. Sophia died (apparently commiting suicide) on 10.12.1919 and is buried in the Jewish cemetery in Brauneberg, alongside her mother who died whilst on a visit to Germany in 1915.
