The Clash Within: Democracy, Religious Violence, and India's Future
While America is focused on religious militancy and terrorism in the Middle East, democracy has been under siege from religious extremism in another critical part of the world. As Nussbaum reveals in this penetrating look at India today, the forces of the Hindu right pose a disturbing threat to its democratic traditions and secular state. Nussbaum's long-standing professional relationship with India makes her an excellent guide to its recent history.

Quite a distressing book.
After reading for a while I realized that the book doesn't contain any positive ideas of its own but instead stresses solely to point out what is negative . In fact portrays everything negative.
I don't think the author has read books of Mr Rajiv Malhotras books which are quite boldly puts up his points and concludes with the constructive suggestions.
To me the country which shies away from its own identity and relies on foreign accounts to understand itself is slow killing of the country itself. Here the author relying on the similar material and thought process.
