Anna and Grandma are planning a surprise for Dad's birthday. Dad thinks he has received all his presents, Grandma stands up and gives him the best one of all: she reads aloud the stories that Anna has taught her. "A plug for literacy is just the bonus; the real focus is on the lessons old and young share when they learn to read each other's hearts." -- School Library Journal, starred review

A sweet story about a seven-year old girl, Anna who teaches her grandma to read. Good for discussion on adult illiteracy.
