Contract, dated 1609 in Paris, for the sale of the seigneury of Pontchartrain to Paul Phélypeaux by Antoine de Buade. There follows an itemized description of the Château de Pontchartrain in Jouars, near Versailles, including the pavillions, galleries, dove-cote, fruit orchards, willow grove, barns, and stables, and moats. The contract continues with an itemization of approximately thirty parcels of estate land, including their locations according to local landmarks and neighboring farms, and their acreage in "arpents." Dated 1609 in Paris, at the Château du Louvre, and signed by Frontenac, Phelypeaux, and two witnesses.
