I think Tim Wise has found an academic and social niche that allows him profess a set of claims, that if you oppose, he can peg you as racist or bigot therefore ending any debate or opposition. It is absolutely ridiculous that a white person holds an inherent set of social privilege merely because they are white skinned. Tim Wise presents many anecdotes to support his flaccid claims of privilege, by white skin, but fails miserably to even entertain an opposing objective that indicates otherwise. This is merely a vanity book without originality that coattails off the radically inadequate conjectures of the Black Panthers ideologies.

When I read the book, it seemed rather disingenuous because the title suggests that the author is criticizing his own people. The presentation would seem more sincere if the author mentioned his own Jewish ethnicity, instead of identifying himself as "white". Another interesting footnote which damages Tim's credibility is the fact that he has chosen to live in an affluent neighborhood with no blacks. He's made a lucrative career out of promoting the idea that white people should embrace diversity, so I believe it's reasonable to expect him to follow his own advice.
