Having seen Steven Spielberg's "Schindler's List" I thought no more of Oskar Schindler until I visited Krakow in August 2016, saw the Ghetto and the Schindler Enamel Works or what remains of it.
my return I looked for a definitive work on Schindler and came across this excellent book by David M. Crowe, President Emeritus of the Association for the Study of Nationalities at Columbia University.
It is a heavy read and takes some to get into. However, the effort is worth it as the book dispels a lot of myths as well as cover the last few post-war years of Schindler's life as well as those of his long-suffering wife, Emilie.
It is undoubtedly a scholarly work with photographs, references and bibliography.
If you have an interest in the Holocaust, it is a must-read book.
