About the author (1986)

Father Christopher Rengers, O.F.M. Cap., was born in 1917 at Pittsburgh. In 1936 he became a Capuchin novitiate in Maryland, and finished professing his vows four years later. He was ordained in Washington, D.C. in 1942, and taught four years at St. Joseph College in Kansas before spending fifty years on various assignments through parish work. He is the author of "The Youngest Prophet", "Mary of the Americas", "Words from the Cross", and "They Played in Calvary s Drama". His work has also appeared in magazines such as "Soul", "Priest", and "Pastoral Life".
Father Rengers was very interested in the doctors of the Church, and admitted that writing on them made a big impact on his life. His recent activities include hearing confessions at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and doing ministry work in nursing homes.
