Greenwald, author of Shopping for Buddhas and Mr. Raja's Neighborhood decided, on his 40th birthday, to travel around the world. As he so eloquently states in this book, "I want to embrace its mass, feel its gravity, ambulate its circumference. I want to travel forward, without a return ticket, and let the very fact of the planet's spheroid shape carry me back to where I started from".
