Normally prison fare is not my cup of tea, too depressing, but when its an undercover cop unexpectedly thrust into a dangerous mission its not a problem. He is a very good character and the detail for the prison elements is very effective, putting you right in the environment as if you were a newcomer. In addition to that the villian is certainly ruthless and formidable making this a highly effective thriller. In addition there is some excellent SAS action and suspense up to the end.

Well worth your time...
I am fickle when I read, if it's dull it's dumped. This is a good read that has plent enough about it to keep you hooked. A few occasions when Spider used his training to good effect on the inside really had me wanting to be him. The sadness is painful and is best understood by parents. I found the ending a little OTT, but exactly what was needed. I will read a sequel with pleasure. An afterthought, it would be nice to hear the female prison officers thoughts on who he really is, find out the third option..
