Theodore Bryant Bartley (1803-1878) was born at Nailsworth, Glouchester, England, the son of Onesiphorus Windle and Elizabeth Bryant Bartley. He was orphaned in 1818 and in 1819 immigrated to Sydney, Australia. He settled in Tasmania in 1821 and married Hannah Pickering in 1826. They had fifteen children.
