I read the book and I felt it really delivered on what it promised. It does have a lot of interesting facts and gives you a bunch of eco-friendly alternatives to name brands. However, I have to say I feel somewhat disappointed. As a sustainability major, the book bored me. My professors make the subject interesting! This books just lists the facts, and lacks any hint of passion. Kind of felt like I was reading a manual for something. Wish she would have it more enjoyable.
Pros: Reliable Facts, Great Alternatives to Name Brands Listed, Cheap for Size
Cons: Boring, Impersonal, Lack of Passion

This is a great book to have. It's rare to find a book with so much useful information that's provided in an informative, non-preachy manner. I read a lot of books about the enviroment and often times I feel as though the author is trying to make me feel terrible about every choice that I make. This book gives you the information and let's you know that there isn't always a perfect, single answer to everything. It's sort of a here's-the- info-now-pick-the-lesser-of-the-evils for you-style which I appreciate. Also, the information is local (if you are Canadian) which is something that's pretty hard to find.
