About the author (2013)

Ron Adkison has been exploring wildlands and studying the natural environment of the West for many years. He has walked each hike in this guide to provide precise, firsthand information about not only the trails but features and processes of ecological interest as well. The author of numerous other FalconGuides, he now lives in Montana.
David Wortman writes about travel, the outdoors, and the environment from his home in Seattle. An avid hiker, Dave has written for a variety of publications including "Sierra Magazine" and "High Country News,"
