As a high school student immersed in the stories of Beowulf and Canterbury tales, I am astonished to discover these tales of Beecher Stowe heartily re-awake my enthusiasm and interest in english literature.
She was certainly one of the most formidable woman writers of her time, and earned such admiration from Lincoln himself, purporting Stowe to be the cause of the war between the north and south.
"Little Pussy Willow" is one of my favorites by far, but so far, I've only starting reading one of her biographers history, so I have a lot of reading to catch up on.
